  • The French Resistance fighters' trail

The French Resistance fighters' trail winds its way between the village of Cerdon and the Val d’Enfer. It celebrates the memory of the men and women who got together in order to fight the Nazi occupation from 1943.Val d'Enfer Memorial

  • Val d'Enfer Memorial

Erected next to the main road, this memorial, carved by Charles Machet, is in memory of the 700 dead men in the Ain and Jura maquis during the 2nd worl war.

  • The Varey castle

Situated in Saint-Jean-le-Vieux, this castle has played a large part in our region's history. By keeping the Oiselon gorges' entrance, and by dominating the Ain plain, it constituated a strategic place during the Delphino-Savoyardes wars.
